JOHN EMANUEL
John Emanuel was born in Bury in Lancashire in 1930. In 1939 he moved to Barrow-in-Furness. He started painting in 1963 and a year later moved to Cornwall.
John Emanuel has had numerous solo exhibitions and contributed to mixed shows since 1975.
In 1990 John Emanuel helped to raise the funds to build the Tate Gallery in St. Ives by giving work to 'Ten Etchings'.
Since then his name has been among those who helped to refurbish the Penwith Print Workshop. As one of the Porthmeor Printmakers, John Emanuel was commissioned by the Tate, St. Ives to make etchings for The Restaurant for the opening exhibition.
John Emanuel's work is held in public and private collections throughout the world.
