JUDY SYMONS
Judy Symons was born in Sheffield, she worked there in the hard metal industry In research and production metallurgy. Judy Symons moved to St. Ives in 1973, when she married locally.
It was not long before Judy Symons's long held interest in art was re-awakened, stimulated by the thriving arts community in St. Ives. She began to attend life classes where her bold approach developed into her distinctive style. Judy Symons now works, on a large scale, with a model in her studio. Her drawings are executed in charcoal, other media may be added to achieve her desired effect.
Before too long, Judy Symons was inevitably drawn to her surroundings and began to paint on a grand scale in watercolour and pastel, sea and landscapes in which can sometimes be seen the human form.
Judy Symons regularly visits Florence in Italy to absorb the atmosphere and to sketch from the originals of Michealango, whose work is her passion.
